Family intrigue, hidden documents and a desire to connect to my heritage have led my name to evolve over time.
"Michelle Morgante" is the version most widely used. But you may also see me use "Michelle Morgante Del Rio," which honors my paternal and maternal lines.
What I Write About
My creative writing evolves from a sense of resilience familiar to Latinos—people who navigate the complexities of identity, belonging, and culture. I write from the interior perspective of those who almost always are seen as outsiders.
Through fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry, I explore themes of heritage, duality, and self-discovery from a distinctly Californian perspective.
